Guru-Shishya: The strongest bond there is and ever will be
One would reach great heights in their life but often forget how they reached there. Going back to your roots and a gesture of gratitude towards the ones who helped you get where you are is rare now.
At SISIR, we never forget where we started from. Our launchpad is what always reminds us of how far we’ve come. Being grateful to what led you here is what team SISIR practices every single day. And this beautiful trait comes to each member by our director, Tapan Misra. Here he shares a story of a friend of his who cherishes the bond of a Guru-Shishya.
Dr Unnikrishnan Nair, newly appointed Director of VSSC, ISRO was visiting his college teacher Prof Rajendran, who taught him engineering drawing way back in 1982. A gesture of paying respectful gratitude to the teachers, because of whom he is today whatever he is. My heartfelt good wishes for my friend who did not forget his roots. Sadly such noble gesture, the minimum the student can offer, has become a rarity. My thanks to Unni for sharing this photo with me.
I feel privileged.
